Emulsion toobs and needles - Mikuni BDST38 carbs

A popular topic within the forum and a regular question posed

Q: bike bogging down in low rev range (sub 2500RPM) when given a handful of throttle, usually starts without the choke...whats the cause?

What are we dealing with? How to identify if your toobs need sorting!

Precious new toobs and needles purchased as part of a group buy via the forum

Excessive wear is not always this obvious. It only takes a small amount to make the bike run rich.

Does yours splutter when given a handful of throttle at low revs or start without the choke?

How to set your float heights (click here)

info supplied by creedxup

Float height at 14mm to the higher float

The guage step is cut to 14mm. This sets the float height. When this is achieved the FUEL HEIGHT (as mentioned in the manual) should be correct when the carbs are re-assembled

Did you know that they're the same item as fitted to the 482458-001 | Suzuki 1993 DR650SP carb (Mikuni BST40SS) that cost a fraction of the price?
