Never ridden an Ace ..................Would like to ride a standard Ace & FZR to compare against the R1.

by all acounts the r1 and fzr ride simliar except the seat height ive riden a r1 from mine to devils bridge with my mate on my ace i found it uncomfortable and a bit flighty couldnt wait to get back on my own bike
he thought my thunderace was a bit heavier but not as much as it really is also thought the power was as good as the r1 and so were the brakes
i like it even more now with renthals on
just fighter it !!!

The main difference between the FZR and the R1 to me is that you sit ON an R1 and sit IN an FZR. Im not trying to be cheeky...I mean that they handle similarly but the R1 turns in quicker. The FZR is definitely a comfy sports bike.
