YZF 750 rebuild

Post by Killawife »

I just bought myself an old junker of a YZF to rebuild during the winter. Just gotta get a XJ600s Diversion up and running first, then I can get on with it.

This is what I have to do:

Fix cut up cables for the clocks - done
Get new ignition lock and gas cap - done
Connect up a battery and see what happens -done, she wants to start but doesn't
Clean out the carbs and start the engine.
Change the rear shock
Change the brake calipers for blue spots
Sand and re-laquer carbon fibre front fender
Make a bracket for GSX-R K2 rear end
Make a rear light bracket for a R1 light, indicators and numberplate light
Get a bracket for the exhaust. I'll look for a 4-1 downpipe as well as I don't want all the hassle with the Exup I had before. Oh, and check the Exup.
Get some side fairings(both are for some unknown reason cut off) and paint. I would like an original White/pink paintjob like my old YZF750 but it seems impossible to find these fairings nowadays.

Lol! Japan. I can't afford that. When I had an R6 and R1 I could just order up a full fairing kit in whatever livery I wanted from ebay. Cheap too. I wish they would do this for older bikes too.

Sorry about not having any pics but I actually don't have any and my garage sucks and has no lighting :/

Here's my old Yzf though, so this is basically my target:
