I set off for Yarm (near Darlington) this morning, going via Northallerton. It was lovely and sunny when I left home, and as soon as I got near York it clouded over, and felt a lot cooler. I also encountered some rain on route, luckily there was a dry line to ride on.
After my usual lunch in Yarm I set off for Whitby, when I was on the way to Yarm I could see the blue sky and bright sunshine over on the east coast. Arriving in Whitby it was 6 degrees warmer and the blue sky and sunshine was still there when I arrived. I had a coffee at Clara's, and set off to go on to the North York moors to Goathland. I don't know if anybody remembers on here the programme called Heartbeat? This and the Whitby area is where they filmed it.

Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
