I think the era ended a few seasons ago.
VR certainly changed the game. I admired Doohan, Rainey, Lawson etc but Vale raised the bar.
It took a long time until Marc M came along with a whole new approach and blew the field away.
He can retire with untold wealth and the respect of all who love racing.
