Yes, it's brilliant- high quality ride, great handling. I like touring mostly and it'll hustle along and do big miles easily.

The MT09 triple is a peach too.

Friend got an MT 09 last year after years of 600 Fazers. She's blown away with it.

Friend got an MT 09 last year after years of 600 Fazers. She's blown away with it.

My Zx10R was amazing - the electronic braking control and traction was amazing. But the bloody thing was just over half revs at 70mph in first and the riding position was insane. So sold it, the FZR and the Gamma.

The MT09 engine is torquey, usable and more powerful than the numbers suggest. Tore up the rear in less than 3000miles.

Never tried the MT-09, but remember the MT-01 a few years back... the rear was bald after less than 3000km (say, 2000 miles) ... It was not even a sport tire, but a road one: BT-20. Great fun though with it!

It is genuinely awesome.

I do a lot of European touring (well until the bloody pandemic). The Niken will be awesome in the Alps.

I accept it's not for everyone, but yet again Yamaha innovate a cool product knowing it might not sell all that well.

Ive already done some 500 mile days (between lockdowns) and it was easy, rapid, comfortable, economical and enjoyable. The last bit is key.
