The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

Higher wattage bulbs in clocks

Post by Crazy L »

Just a quick one. Clock bulbs in the Ace are 1.7w. Local factors only have 3w as a minimum. What are the perils of using a bulb with 1.3w extra? Ta

I fitted 3w bulbs and the clocks have not melted...yet. You're welcome. :p

I would suggest that after previous posts about what's best to do with ones bike in certain circumstances that 'might' end up with Stig being taken to court, losing his house & being sued for liability about when suggestions 'might' go wrong, people may well have been put off putting forward ideas as to what's best to do that are different to standard.

I for one would happily install slightly higher wattage bulbs, especially in the case of changing the standard 35/35w headlight bulbs for 55/60w items. But certain other people may well say that if the bike suddenly erupts into flames then it would be the fault of those who say go ahead & do it.
Bikes-they're in the blood.

Ah man, I have made some grammatical errors and am unable to rectify them. That'll teach me to use a poxy phone instead of a real keyboard, lol.

Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

About the same time people started buying new vacuum cleaners because the dust container was full.

"Err, but you just unclip this, empty the rubbish into the bin and clip it on again".

"Wow, I never knew that. You're so clever. Can you do that for me when I get my new vacuum?"
Keep on keepin' on.
