Wanted; 1989 Exup silencer

As the title, original Yammy can wanted in very good condition, still looking for the last few parts to bring my acquisition back to near standard, currently has a full chrome can which looks period but isn't original.
There are a couple of reasonable priced brand new silencers on eBay but are listed as 91 onwards, is it just the colour that's different? (I.e can I repaint the steel parts in black?)
