Had a spare basket so set up the mill with a ball nose cutter and took out the reliefs on the curve at the rear of the inner basket.
Dont think it turned out too bad for a first attempt. i've just got to sort the additional holes thro' the sides now

That job can be achieved with nothing more involved than a # 4 thrunging broach and an 2hz flogging peen driven by a half brick bludgeon

it allows oil to circulated further along the clutch plates at the rear of the basket...speads it about more
gives a smoother lever and better lubrication to the plates
