no it goes on the inside of your visor. fixex with a tiny foam backed srip heat it with the hairdryer so it is warm, apply to inner visor. takes 10 mins. best gadget i have bought yet

had summin similar on my Shoei (before I dropped it) never misted and went blue when the sun hit it - tres cool
