FZR - Coming full circle
Hi all, just joined after finally tracking down an 89 FZR 1000 in the same colour as my original. Getting it shipped into the US since they never sold the Silver/Grey/Black/Red livery here. Really looking forward to riding an FZR again.

The hunt
I hunted for about three years. Originally I was looking for my original bike which is still on the road (in Wigan I think) Last year I saw this for sale in Church Stretton and grabbed it. I had to sell my original back in 1991 but god what a fun bike.

Yes, still being ridden. It would have been great if he or she was a member here.

Thanks
I hope so. I had to buy it based on the description since I'm a few thousand miles away from Church Stretton but seems to be in good shape. I just hope I don't have to swap out the exup valve. It's now sitting in my dads shed waiting for shipment in Mid March.

Cheers
That's good to know. I contacted Yamaha and the manufacturing date is December 1988 but the registration will give me less grief bringing it in through US Customs. 25 year old bikes don't need to meet DOT guidelines.
I was told the silver/black/grey/red gold wheel livery was a production run of 200 running from 3LG000101 through to 3LG000300 but Yamaha Uk couldn't confirm and I see no other references to it anywhere on the web.
