It's another cunning Yamaha device, basically there is a gate between the carbs and cylinders that operates at 4500 rpm+ (I think), so then each cylinder is fed by 2 carbs instead of just one. Supposed to elimate the dead time between the strokes or summat, when the carb would effectively be doing nothing - now it feeds another cylinder Something like that anyway, am sure Plastic can explain it a bit better
I was on the motorway doing 85 at 5500 revs yesterday, twisted the throttle a touch and I thought the clutch was slipping - Looked at the speedo and I was doing over a ton
Remember the powerband of a RD500?
Imagine that scaled up for a 1200cc V4
Exup/V-Boost? Tomato/Tomato? Same meat - Different gravy
All the same innit? It's still a yam
Wasn't far off!!! Fookin hell, that's it, I wanna go!!!! Did look at them a while back (before I got the Ace) but was looking at god knows however many other bikes at the time too. Am sure you know how it is!
I'm not sure it's a "winter bike", but it's definately a summer one - If you are insured to ride anything that's not yours Stu, you are most welcome to come round to mine and take it for a spin

Stu you got any more space in that garage? You'd never fit it in with all those other things in there. Plastic you do realise that you'll be walking round like a gorilla soon, V-max riders are always easy to spot, just look for the Mike Tyson neck muscles and the elongated arms.
