Thought I would post a picof my bike. I just got it, more cos it was only 800 quid and I liked the idea of a meatier engine than my old decrepid 150,000mile GPZ900.
I need some help though:
As you see the back end is kinda vile, and badly done, in fact, when I took a pillion, it just cracked. And the front fairing is a little weird for me, though now I have put clipons on, I think a little fairing would look nice...maybe, however, I want all that attatched to the frame, and not the forks.
what I am after is some sort of old school cafe racer type back end for it. Any ideas?
Blimey Stig you need to go to Specsavers . Hey Rob i'd certainly dump the fairing,a m8 of mine has a gsxr1100 without a fairing & just has some twin spots up front like a Speedtriple complete with clip ons, looks very old skool.
That is what I had in mind, you wouldn't have a picture of it would you. Plus I hear a Ducati monster seat unit will fit on this without too much trouble, anyone have any thoughts on that?

There's also a postitve handling and braking difference!
No loss of torque (gain) and no need for a manual fan switch.
150,000 miles though!! That's a few starter clutches.
I've got 2 900R's, and while it would be hard to fit the second one in one pic at the moment (stripped)
i still love them old 900R's fell in love with them when i went to the NEC in 83 always wanted one but never got one not many good ones around now but if i found a good late 94 model i would be tempted
Had an A1 for a couple of yrs untill some sleeping driver rearended me whilst l was stationary "sorry didnt see you" didn't quite make it any better.
They was nice and l enjoyed every minute of riding the old girl. Then l bought my 1st EXUP, different class of machine. All pictures l had of her have gone with the old hard drive Doh!
180 rear tyre, (CMA wheels)
Telefix forkbrace, (Needed)
GSXR thou 6pot calipers (Not in that pic)
A8 mirrors (the originals only work if you're 8" wide)
One of the reasons for getting the EXUP was because I'm putting all that stuff with a rebuilt motor on to my A2
I'll be keeping the EXUP though...
have to agree with flipper, it's a different class of machine!
Got to admit, my old GPZ I loved dearly, and no it was still on original everything, starter clutch, clutch everything. The guy who had it before me had it 19 years, and took it abroad twice a year to tour with, hence even original clutch.
London, and no garage space meant it had to move on.
and yes the EXup is a different class of machine entirely, I got 150 out of it before I decided I didn't need to go that fast. I bet it's even better with an un seized EXUP valve eh.
