I use 28 front and 26 rear for track days and that works well. I end up with 32 front and rear when hot. For the road I use 34 front and 32 rear.
Yes lower pressure in the rear tyre and not the front tyre. When they are warm the pressures usually even out.

I run 36 front, 42 rear. Seems like a good set up, but then again I like the bike to be eager turn in, so might not be ideal for everyone
