PROJECT NUMBER 2!

Post by rf9rider »

Well Chaps, here we go again.
Went "oop" North on Friday, and picked up half my new project.
Drove a round trip of around 300 miles, and not even a cup of tea. Thanks Jon! :finger:
Engine being rebuilt as we speak, should be ready in a couple of weeks hopefully.

Not much to report so far, just degreased the frame, and fitted new steering head bearings.

Its quite straightforward if you have all the bits.
I just clean things up and fit them, though i didnt fancy the engine rebuild, i`ll leave that to my friend Jon, who doesnt own a teapot!

The fork bottoms were looking a little shabby, so stripped the paint, not too sure what colour they are going to be yet, will decide when i have ground them down to fit the R1 callipers.

Pics of the necessary work regarding grinding would be useful for the folk that have never had to do it before. It'd also show what involved with the caliper swap

Polished forks would look cool  ....with gold nitrided stanctions :D
