……And here we go
Re: ……And here we go
That could be an empty box for all we know. If there is a battery in that box, don’t you need a bike to fit it too. Have you found it yet?

Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
Re: ……And here we go
Box is actually empty
BUT, battery is on charge for a first charge when filled
And no, I’ve not found the bike yet. That’s the next task

It looks a bit like green pond water.

It took about 15 seconds on the button but it fired up and sounded great.
I’ve removed the tank, dropped the bowls off and cleaned them out. I’m just waiting for new bowl gaskets to arrive to be able to reassemble
I’ve ordered a clutch slave rebuild kit too as that has leaked. If the kit doesn’t cure it I may have a spare in my box of goodies.
While I’m waiting for parts I’m gunna replace the brake fluid and have the rear tyre replaced. I’ll also drop the oil and change the filter too
Next I need to look for a replacement front tyre next as it’s well out of date and probably has a flat spot after being stood for so long

Re: ……And here we go
Had a busy day working on bike today. Started off by collecting a recently purchased headstock stand from Buxton then had to make a pin as the std fitments made the stand hit the underside of the top cowl. Not good!
So far progress has been good. New rear tyre fitted. Float bowls cleaned, new gaskets and reassembled. No more leaks.
Old fuel drained from tank.
Rear caliper stripped, blasted, repainted, seals removed and grooves cleaned and everything reassembled. Now have a pedal that feels like I’ve dropped an anchor
Clutch slave rebuilt with new seals, bled up and all gears select
Front brakes checked and fluid replaced. However I messed up and broke the lever
while lowering the bike ramp I didn’t realize the lever was catching the end of the lathe causing it to snap at the pivot point. New lever ordered
Dropped engine oil and filter then couldn’t find the new filter. I therefore had to order one the won’t be here til the end of the week
Finally, I’ve now got headstock stand working right so dropped the front wheel out to get the new front tyre fitted tomorrow
Fingers crossed if all goes well it’ll be ready for the MOT at the start of next week

Re: ……And here we go
Is it on the road yet??

Re: ……And here we go
Yes. Took it out for a shakedown test, just over 60 miles. Ran fine but kept stumbling on tickover at junctions. So I stripped off the carbs and gave them a thorough clean and blow through

Been out second time to check carb issues solved. Did 40 miles and all good. Thought I’d got it nailed until I pulled up on the drive at home. Left it ticking over to then see coolant spots on the swingarm under the expansion.
I’ve since stripped off the side panel to check the coolant level and found the grommet perished where the expansion pipe goes through the top of the bottle. Unfortunately you can’t buy it as a separate part from Yamaha so I’ve ordered some grommets off Fleabay. Currently waiting for those to arrive before starting the next chapter
All in, it’s been good to get back out on 2 wheels even if I’m a bit rusty on corners. Need to work on those chicken strips

I know, it'll be, the rubbers won't have gone, it's the bike crying that it's free from prison and finally able to go for a run, the lack of exercise making it sweat
