What are the pros and cons of 16/17 front sprocket Stig?

I ran 16/48 on my Foxeye. This gave several changes which all added up to a livelier bike.
Better acceleration.
Slightly closer gear ratios helped keep it in the sweet spot.
Slightly shorter wheelbase helped turning, especially when fitted with shorter dog bones which sharpened the steering head angle and took a little more out of the wheelbase.
No noticeable effect on fuel consumption.
No noticeable effect on top speed as you can rev closer to the red line in top.
Keep on keepin' on.

Gearing is fascinating. Imagine what it takes to get a 2t bike just right. Mind boggling.
90 fzr1k in black, 91 fzr1k parts bike, 05 fz1/fazer daily ride. Thats just the yams.

Yeah, think about Joey trying to set up a smoking stroker for the TT. All power and no torque. Light switch power band.
