THUNDERACE BOTTOM END (CRANKCASE COMPONENTS) CHECKLIST

Post by YZF1000R-SPRINT »

I have a haynes and Yamaha manual but I'm trying to create a check list of Crankcase or bottom end components

I'm rebuilding an engine (badly lol) and instead of flicking through pages, both manuals seem to step around when rebuilding crankcase from one page to another etc. instead of sequentially.

So far I have a list consisting of these which need to be fitted before the crankcases can be joined back together, does this look right?

CLUTCH OIL RETURN PIPE
BAFFLE PLATES
OIL SPRAY PIPE (WITH O RINGS)
OIL NOZZLE PIPE
OIL NOZZLE PLATE
MAIN BEARINGS
CRANKSHAFT
CONRODS
CAM CHAIN
CAM CHAIN TENSIONER STALK
HY-VO CHAIN
GEARBOX
SELECTOR DRUM
SELECTOR FORKS
STARTER CLUTCH
ALTERNATOR DRIVE SHAFT + RETAINING PLATE
GEARBOX OUTPUT SHAFT SEAL
CLUTCH PUSHROD SEAL
CRANKCASE DOWEL + O RING (TO TRANSFER OIL FROM LOWER TO UPPER CASES)
CRANKCASE "C" RETAINNG PLATE (3 TORX)

There are half circlips that locate the transmission input and output shafts, they slot into the crankcase.

The 3 Torx screw retaining plate is fitted after the cases are together.
