what is interchangerable between the 600 and 1000 bikes ?

The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

Not a lot is the same. Wheels are narrower as are forks. Brakes might fit but you'd be better of going for R1/6 brakes as an upgrade
If the 600 is Exup then parts of the valve assembly will fit
Mickey Mouse mirrors are the same, but none of the panels or tank
All engine and carbs are different

had a right result .
a 94 fzr1000 came up on craigslist local to me. cheap !
it has a 3 pot calipers on USD forks.( i think R1 )
and decent shape wheels n tires front and rear.
all the plastics are present and a few spares.
will try the clocks to test tacho (different loom plug ?)
exup headers and servo are present too.

so first order .try and get it to run , just to know it will or wont.
(suspect fuel pump ).
then swap the forks over (need to make some lock stops to stop bars hitting).
and the rear swinger and wheel asembly.

has anyone had cooling issues with the larger fork dias with the USD .?

thanks mark.

With respect to cooling I would recommend changing the fan switch for the honda civic one - gets fan coming on earlier plus use a thunderace thermostat switch, opens earlier so the bike doesnt have the coolant running so high - worked wonders on my R model
