89 fzr1000 tach

Post by two-stroke-brit »

hi all.
first milestone reached.
i got the basket case running ,sounds pretty good considering first start in over 20 years.
but tach not working .
looked in the haynes manual ,cant find anything on it.
any advise is welcome .

a buddy had a rd500 that if left to sit ,the tach would be reluctant to work at first..

thanks mark

I got a donor bike to try the tacho from.
As the donor is a 94 i assume i can unscrew the three wires that go the back of the tacho and redo with the 94 and hopefully it will work ( different multi plugs 89 to 94).
thanks mark.
