CARB NEEDLE WASHER LOCATION

The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

CARB NEEDLE WASHER LOCATION

Post by two-stroke-brit »

Hi all, i am rebuilding the carbs on a 89 FZR1000,
And the PO had dissembled the carbs .
so i have replaced the jets, most of the o-ring seals and diaphragms.
and i have a small silver washer with each needle assembly.
my question is where does it go.
i assume it fits under the plastic needle collar at the bottom of the diaphragm assembly.
or above the plastic needle collar between that and the spring.

thanks i advance.

If the silver clip isn't connected. It wants to be on the middle groove of the needle. Then you insert into the top of the diaphragm into the hole. Then the long spring goes in last then the diaphragm top goes on. Make sure the little O ring is in place before fitting the diaphragm top. I'll take some photos later to show what I mean so hang fire buddy. :D
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

This is a 1/2 groove setting on the needles, usually on a dynojet kit.
Goes between the nylon spacer and circlip.
