Thunderace rear shock conversion

Post by wonkiwheel »

Contemplating changing to a zx10r/12r rear shock, do these fit straight on or are there any fiddley things I need to do, washers, drilling, cutting of plastics etc??. Are these a better shock anyway?? Read the zzr 1400 fit on the fzr with a bit of drilling, is this the same on the ace?? Cheers.

Can't remember off the top of my head if anyone with an Ace has done the conversion
The shock list that Nuggitt keeps posting may help spec wise for size etc

Going by memory I think you have to cut a bit off the battery box so the reservoir fits better.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
