They are different. The R1 is a bigger bore
You'll need an R1 seal kit and definitely fit the R1 master cylinder with the blue spots or they'll feel wooden.
I've done mine and they are unreal compared to the orginal so much more feel and stopping power.

I done mine to be on the safe side.
