Hypothetical engine question

I currently have a 87 genesis and a 90 exup. would the wiring loom from the 87 work with the exup motor? Obviously i understand would mean i would have no exup but would it run etc or are the connections completely different? Just exploring some options before start buying possibly unnecessary parts.

I would say that there's quite a difference between the 2 looms & not worth doing
