The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

UK 1989 FZR 1000 R-EXUP, full wiring in colour

Post by banner001 »

If this is of any use to anyone let me know and ill see if stig can attach the .psd file that this all came from, this is the wiring for a full UK 1989 FZR 1000 R-EXUP, the .psd adds a lot of functionality as you can simply highlight various wires or junction boxes, see below:-

all of these images should be zoomable if you click on them, and then click them again when you get into photobucket.

full wiring loom (colours now make sense, i.e. grey is grey, not green; dark green is dark green, not black...)

and what you can do with the .psd file (if i can upload it), here is the paths taken by the blue/white wire:

and here are the connections from the main switch:

enjoy and let me know if there are any errors.

i might be able to do some others as well, its time consuming, and not the top of my priorities, but its something to do for an hour a day, stick some tunes on and draw some wires :D

ill send the .psd to stig tonight.

are the early RU and later RU the same loom, and are they suficiently different to the R to warrant a new diagram (i would have though so, but ive not checked yet).

the reason i made this diagram was so i can better work out all of the wiring changes ill be making to my bike, and to work out what connectors ill be needing as im doing a brand-new full re-wire and i dont want to be having to re-do bits as, for example, say ive forgot that im wiring in a fuel gauge so ill be needing a 11-pin connector block instead of a 9-pin...that kind of thing.
