Bloody hell John that's not good, I feel for you mate.
Is it worth a phone call to Rapier paint in Hull?
No doubt it wont be a cheap repair but you would end up with a good as new original panel (you might get a deal with the tank as well).

It's a bit of a shitter matey. Rapier paints could be an option, but they do charge quite a bit so I hear. I have another couple of contacts I want to visit first before I think about getting a second mortgage out for rapier.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.
Nasty can plastic weld He's done a lot of work for me in the past as you know. The only thing is it's a 270 mile round trip and thats x 2. I don't want to post the items. I'd have nightmares.

Double box it, good strong cardboard boxes with plenty of bubble wrap, it'd be fine.

I daren't do it Chris. I still have flashbacks about the tophalf fairing I bought from the lad in Italy. According to him it was broken in lots of places. He thinks the stupid Italian postal service had put something really heavy on top of it causing the damage.
On the tank note. I've had a word with a paint sprayer who's a friend of Mikes (roadrunner) who will put it right for me at a good price. He said it's all down to the extra 10% of Ethanol the oil companies are putting in the petrol these days. (The green bollocks)
As for the damaged tophalf fairing. Once I find the missing bit of plastic that came out of it. Mike (roadrunner) is going to have a go with plastic welding it, as he's done a few jobs on his bikes in the past, with excellent results I must add. Once the plastic welding and rubbing down is done I'll take it to the paint sprayer and get it done. Then I'll be extra careful in the future with the bike.
