It's standard. It's from a 92 uk bike and only done just over 17,000miles. The old one has covered 69,000 and is French, so the change should be a bit like it being mod'd. Not that the old one was sluggish.
Apparently the bloke I got it off said that he let his stepson take it for a spin. He then proceeded to wheelie into the side of a car showing off to his mates. By the sounds of it he wasn't insured as its shows on DVLA as needing tax or sorn. This is where I'm worried. No log book as they can't find it. It happened 4 years ago and they have moved since the accident. I've got to suss out how to change details on log book. Do I have to register it in my name and scrap it or can I just straight swap and change details without?
Can't you just register in your name and sell frame on?

Thats what I thought of doing but not sure if the frame is straight. When I stripped it the head race only needed a slight tap and the whole lot dropped out.
If you have the frame and the V5 isnt in your name, then just cut the frame up, if you suspect that the frame is bent, better to be safe than to sell on, and have a little niggle in the back of your head,
With the engine, just amend your V5 with the new enigine number, and they will swop the numbers over for you,
Looks a bit odd... looks like the forks have been bent after... they can't have bent that much with a wheel in them, can they?... they have been bent to fit on the pallet.
I put it on the pallet so I could wheel it around the workshop. I didn't take a picture of the front wheel unfortunately, it was completely smashed to pieces it had hit the oil filter too creasing the cooler. The fairing took a lot of the impact hence none of it left. It wasn't worth it. All the braces and brackets are twisted or snapped as well.
It must have hit the car as some speed to do all that damage. Something like 50 mph.

I believe it did. The kid was in hospital for some time apparently. Don't know how bad but bad enough. Also I don't think it was a recorded accident as it still shows on DVLA as requiring a sorn or tax.
