Finally got the wiring sorted and to be honest it is just common sense really, it just seemed a bit daunting at first.
I have even wired up the speedo and neutral and oil lights and I have a keyless ignition with a secret switch which is located ****** ** ****** ****.
I put the neutral and oil lights in the frame by the headstock as I couldn't figure out where else to put them but they seem to be bright enough and it's a bit different.
The speedo is on top of the tank but I'm not sure I like it there.
You can just see the neutral light inside a yellow circle that seems to have appeared from somewhere.
It is virtually done now but it will be two weeks before the painter can make a start on the tank, tail piece and mudguard so I have that long to come up with a colour scheme.
All I need then is a myopic MOT tester who is also deaf.
you've managed in a year what's taken me 4 to do, and I've not finished yet
Love the idiot light idea.
You can get brighter LEDs from Maplins that are clear when unlit and really bright when in use, that's what I used on my Exup as repeaters for the idiot lights.
Thats looking absolutly awsome mate just decided to fighter mine over the last couple of weeks and after reading this entire thread i think i will be calling on you for some tips, i'm only about 2 miles away in tranmere.
Good mot guy i've used a couple of times is SRT Motorcycles in birkenhead, nice guys
Ta for that Mr DarkFool.
Ray MOT'd my last bike and only commented on the dodgy number plate which was good.
I'm not sure he will be so lenient with this bike though.
I'm taking the tank, guard and tail piece to a bloke in New Ferry to get painted this week, they should be done in a couple of weeks and then I think it is virtually done. Can't wait.
After a lot of head scratching I have finally got my rear light sorted. I made an ABS panel that fits into the hole at the back of the tail piece and pops in using car trim clips (I didn't want visible bolts). It was just a case of cutting a hole in it and sticking the light in (I wish).
Bit of a nightmare trying to get the angle of the light right as it is an LED one and only looks bright if you look straight at it.
Still, it works now so that's another thing ticked off the list.
