After toying with the idea of getting an FZR I have finally got one.
To say it's a project is an understatement though! Still, what can you expect for 500 quid.

Made a start and managed to find a bolt that actually came out without any problems.

I think I may be picking a few brains in the future months/years.

When you get a challenge like that. It makes you think where do you start,but like they say Rome wasn't built in a day.

You've got all winter to do the necessary work, so we'll look forward to seeing the finished product sometime in the spring.

I dont think its that bad, just needs some tlc, a seat and side panels..

granted, it does have a few plus points

R1 full brake set up, riser bars and Quill can are sound.

Zorst headers look like they've seen a few seasons tho so bet the valve needs a seeing to

Mind, if you'd seen the state of our RG125F when we got it, this EXUPs a minter

Looks like a Weapon R coolant overflow tank, they're pretty neat, only ever saw them for sale on US sites.

Started work on tidying the engine up, it's a fair bit of work but I'll get there.

That looks damn clean!
Did you paint the water pipes cos the look like new!

Makes me wish I'd done that to my engine before I installed it.

What bits I could remove went in the parts washer and the main lump was treated to green Gunk and about thirty gallons of pre-paint cleaner before going over the whole thing with various brass wire brushes on a drill.
The water pipes are painted with a shiny gold paint. How well it lasts reamains to be seen.
