The early ones like that are still classed as the true animal version due to carbs instead of injection and the way the power was delivered.
WA good mate has the same model and thats the only version of the R1 that i've ridden....it still don't leave the EXUP in a straight line tho'

Al
R1's are awesome bikes, they're lighter for one thus more nimble I find and very quick in the corners, acceleration is also awesome but keeping the front wheel down is a battle I seldom win, but I'm getting better at it.
I love mine and just owning it makes me smile, I'm out on it as much as I can and thats every day recently.
Here I am.
I thought my FZR was excellant and still do, but an R1 is what it is, its progression.
I can't compare it to an R6 though cause I've never ridden one. Ask the bloke if you can take it for a blast.
If I have to understand, don't bother to explain.

Only because I'd set off faster and stay in front.
Near me theres some pretty good roads on the way to a place called Rivington Barn and some professional photographers from two differant companys have started standing on the corners and taking pics as you pass, then posting them on the net in the hope people will buy them, I will when I find one good enough, until then I'll just steal them, I've about 15 now.
Heres me and the missus.
Me and a mate.
Me with me new lid on.
It adds extra fun to a bike ride, coming home and having a look for yourself.

I've had a real good look over the bike and its like new couldn't find a scratch on it and the engine although high miles sounds fantastic plus its got full service history, loads of receipts and every mot from new...can get it for 1800 which i think is a great price.
Just wanted some info on what they handle like and are they a decent ride?...liked my old exup and prefer yams to the others so think i'll go for it!
