All looks good
I’m an Aircraft Engineer, so I would always advise on the side of safety and/or not doing a job twice (if at all possible)

Re: The rebirth of a 1990 fzr1000
The valves do stretch (in a way) they hammer themselves into the valve seat and deform which decreases clearance.
The centre valves are at a more acute angle and wear differently to the outside 2.

Re: The rebirth of a 1990 fzr1000
Clearances are first due at 16k mine at 16 were real tight.
When it gets hot they close right down , it loses power and is hard to start hot.
Go bigger clearance, it won’t rattle.
You can do the cams with the engine in the frame but, it’s fiddly.

If you have all the bits, plastic weld, sand/polish or paint.
If not, plastic repair kit to fill the gaps, sand/polish or paint

I usually buy Phillips, or Osram Nightbreaker,
very bright and blueish,
only lasted a year in the car though,
but the use my bike gets, probably last for 20

Get some feeler gauges that fit the centre valve.
One of yours is at 2 thou, one of the others may be 0, then it won’t start, have no power and you’ll have to do it again

Modifying your engine is wrought with pitfalls, if the website doesnt know that the original is a sprung rack design, I wouldn’t trust it.
Fit an original YZF750 one, they rev higher so must be better? I have one on my 1070 EXUP it it works just fine

Very good Chris
My Exup is my classic back-up, incase my daily (2006 ZX12) is broken.
Just bought a 94 Zephyr 1100 in nice shape, doing some jobs on it before jetting back to Thailand.
If I could post pics I could.
I recommend retiring early

Re: I’m back
Welcome home Chris. It’s good to have you back on here. I must be honest, I’ve been stalking you, and watching your antics (not all of them cough, cough) in Thailand. You’re in my friends list, so it’s been good to see how things are over in Thailand. Have you injuries healed up after your highside...
