just googled 4-2-1...lol...understand.....i'm a total newbie at bike mechanics...landy's and submarine engines i can do, bike stuff is still witchcraft to me...lol....but slowly learning...

Sorry to butt in....but could an incorrectly set exup valve also cause a flat spot mid range...ie 6 - 8000 rpm....

Well my new exup cables have worked a treat, i needed to make a few wee adjustments after an initial run and alls good...well nearly....

new wee issue and cant find any help in the Haynes.....

I've got a wee flat spot about 6 - 7500rpm in all gear, runs nice and smooth up to 6000, then ...

Oh yeah...all's good in my world again...bikes running as sweet as a nut....

Thankfully the plod that patrol the Green Welly area and the surrounding areas only seem to be bothered about speeding in the villages along the way, that i totally agree with that, 30 is 30 no matter what your driving.......once you hit Callander the roads are awesome all the way to John O Groats ...

got my new cables, sweet......only went and mixed up the cable sheaths during striping out and cleaning......fitted cables and nipples, all cut to length and fitted..darn it, now ones shorter than the other....should have marked them to 645mm first ( or whatever the length ...

Its so annoying that the prices vary so much depending on what bike....fekkin scam...

Aye 10/10 for your exup mention......if im going to strip it and clean and grease it up, i want to make sure ive got new gubbins for the valve before i open it up.....cheers

weather permitting, tomorrow going to change the fuel filter, drain tank and put fresh stuff in, check plugs and leads and check fuel pump running ok.

Spoke to the guy who owned it prior to me, and it was fully serviced prior to me getting it, all fluids, plugs, leads, carbs set, new sprockets ...

Spoke to a garage and they said different symptoms for the exup valve, but ill get it checked out as well, suppose plugs, ht leads and fuel filter are easy cheap starting points...

Hi guys, sorry not posted for a while, been renovating a barn and just finished, now bike needs work and im stumped....

This just started after 2 good clean days out, so new premium fuel in tank.

Sorry if this is hijacking the thread, but ive the same problem, but the seals only leak under heavy braking as there is a wee bit pitting on the chrome at the bottom of the chrome, is there ay way of repairing the damaged chromework or is it a new set of forks?????

Went to Mickey Oates as my mate takes his bike there, excellent service as well. I got handed 40p for the coffee machine by the guy at the desk as I was freezing....There are a few bike places around Stonehouse but not too great reveiws so MO it is... One of the mechanics is a serious racer and ...
