Hey STIG! - I finally installed the dogbones jack up kit

So yeah, I've been quite busy lately but I finally got around to installing those dog bones. I went home on my lunch break today and just said the hell with it, why not. Took me about 35 minutes for the whole project and getting the jack/pressure just right for the pins was a tad frustrating but all...

Slacking

Thanks MMUK, it does have the washable K&N filter.

Alright, so I've been slacking and not doing much. I went ahead and sync'd the carbs. I'm planning on doing a cleaning this fall/winter.

Thanks

Thanks Fatdog, thats exactly what I was looking for. I don't know the service history of the bike unfortunately. I haven't done much to the engine other than change the oil/clutch and check the air filter adjust idle (was at 1600 and the manual says 1200). Like I stated I'm still relatively a noob j...

One part resolved

Well it appears that I resolved one part and that was the rough start. I just gave it 1/4 choke and she started right up. Is it me or do many engines seem different on their level of choke usage for a cold startup? I should add the caveat of my background here. I may ask stupid questions as this is ...

How often do you clean carbs and sync them?

Hey everyone, I realize this might be a bit of an over generalized question but I wanted to get a idea. My yzf1000r has recently started to crackle a bit at deceleration and started taking an extra push of the starter to get her going (3/4 choke). I have looked into the airbox and found that it has ...

Not sure

It's possible that you exposed a wire somewhere and are shorting out but I would think there would be heat as a result. I'm by no means an expert. Might not be a bad idea to check the voltage on your stator. I'm not sure of the specs but when running, it should be putting more out to recharge. Somet...

Thanks

Thanks, I've been fortunate to meet many great people from across the pond thanks to this kooky internet thingy. Such great hospitality while still being straight forward. Stig, I'm looking forward to the kit and will keep you posted. Might even throw the project up here if it hasn't already been do...

Beautiful

That is a work of beauty! Quite impressive, love the polished look. You're giving me ideas that will no doubt take me a while to accomplish but if the end result is half as pretty as this I will be happy.

Another Newbie

Greetings everyone, I've come across the site quite a few times in my searching and I just recently picked up some dogbones from a member on ebay who talked about the forum so here I am. This looks like a great site and I'm excited to read more. Being in the U.S., specifically Columbus, Ohio, it see...
