Thunderace rear shock conversion

Contemplating changing to a zx10r/12r rear shock, do these fit straight on or are there any fiddley things I need to do, washers, drilling, cutting of plastics etc??. Are these a better shock anyway?? Read the zzr 1400 fit on the fzr with a bit of drilling, is this the same on the ace?? Cheers.

Thunderace fuel pump relay.

Ive seen this relay being described as a multi function relay also, does this relay also serve the exup servo in any way??

Wouldnt say its easy....ok both hands was a bit extreme but there defo seems to be a lot of resistance especially to get it moving one way or t'other, anti clockwise seems the harder way.

Thunderace Exup servo movement

How free should the rotation be on the servo? all the cogs seem to be in good order and the motor spins freely when not under load, however when the cogs are all in place the rotation is very hard, i know the gearing will play a part but should it be so hard to spin, i have to use both hands with go...

alas it wasnt to be, the central hub on the xjr is 10mm narrower than the ace, 186mm as opposed to 196mm, i could have used some spacers i suppose but i opted for a straight like for like wheel i found from t' th'ebay. Now over to the how to polish your rims section.....it will keep me quiet for a w...

And the spacers are identical except for one that goes into the sprocket carrier that isn't available for the ace any longer, can't see that making much of a huge difference as I'll be mounting all the aces gubbins anyway.

After doing another search with the correct xjr year entered (2002) drrr....the shaft, bearings, spindle and sprocket carrier are all the same, the rear disc is different so I'm guessing the diameter isnt the same but the wheel I've sourced hasn't got a disc on anyway. The xjr wheel is subtly differ...

alas the part numbers dont match for wheel, bearings or hubs, im thinking though as long as the inner shaft fits my 27mm spindle the sprocket carrier on mine should go straight on the xjrs, i can always replace bearings. I have read somewhere that they are compatible but didnt go into details.

Think they are way past helicoil, they seem to be fused in and iI'm guessing for the price of helicoil it's probably easier/cheaper to buy a different wheel.

2001 xjr 1300 rear wheel on thunderace, yea or nay.

My rear wheel has croaked it due to my ineptitude at drilling out broken disc bolts, it was polished and shiney, anyway I've found an xjr 1300 already polished and same inner colour, im aware the spindle size was upped to 27mm on both and that they are compatible but will the sprocket carrier and di...

Cheers, axle stands it is then. Ive found a nice place to slide a nice piece of 2x2 just behind the sump, i will need to take the exhaust off which needs a good sand down anyway and the side stand bracket.

Will do. It should be a whole lot of fun me being colourblind n all. I've got a colour wiring diagram thanks to a previous topic, the legend is a little wrong but ive got the service manual black and white as back up.
