Re: YZF 750 rebuild

Lol! Japan. I can't afford that. When I had an R6 and R1 I could just order up a full fairing kit in whatever livery I wanted from ebay. Cheap too. I wish they would do this for older bikes too. Sorry about not having any pics but I actually don't have any and my garage sucks and has no lighting :/ ...

This is what I have to do: Fix cut up cables for the clocks - done Get new ignition lock and gas cap - done Connect up a battery and see what h...

I've used iridium plugs in my YZF 750 and in a volvo I'm driving now. I've noticed no difference whatsoever compared to regular plugs. They should last at least five times longer though.

It can be fitted to FZR1000 89-95 and Thunderace 96-00 with just a new bracket. The frames are very similar to YZF 750. Its more common to put the 1000 cc engine in a YZF 750 frame though.

I put a Aprilia RSV 1000 clutch master cylinder on my YZF. It made a world of difference. Much lighter and smoother clutch action. Its a radial brembo so a bit pricey but awesome nonetheless.

I still have it in my basement.

The R1 swingarm is much longer than the FZR, like 10 cm's or so. Not what you want unless you're going dragracing. YZF 750 swingarm will fit FZR's from 89 onward. Even the shocks are basically the same.

It might be the gasket between the cylinder head and the intake pipes that is broken.

Check the vaccum tubes that are used for carb balancing. One of mine were cracked and sucked air.

My R1 is now finished with new fairings and quite a bit of of changes. It runs and rides beautifully. Its almost a bit much for me sometimes.

You should get one from an 05 onward. The model with radial brakes. Its a brembo and really improves the brakes.
I can also recommend the Honda CBR 1000RR master cylinder. Really nice piece of kit.

Weird, that happened to me once. Cylinder full of fuel and the engine wouldn't turn over. I had to run-start it.

The carbs on these bikes seem to be the cause of a lot of problems. Anyone know of any carb swaps that work?

Does the sound go away when you pull the clutch lever in?
