Not too worry...it will be again soon.. I now have all the panels - most new - to rebuild it. The rest of it is covered in chain lube and cleans up a treat - I used to use it all year round you see (no car).

So just a repaint necessary now...and its a surprisingly easy paint scheme to do. If I can ...

I've got one of those....well sort of...had it 3 years now. For the last 6 months though its been looking a bit erm sh*gged.

I like that.....it definately seems Yamaha screwed up with the std paint schemes on Aces..this is another one that totally changes the 'look' of the bike....and it looks superb. When I got mine it had 'big air' in the tyres aswell (60 rear 40 front)...I think the guys wife must have been a monster ...

Am I right in deducing then that the seat cowls aren't made by Yamaha ... they are an aftermarket GRP part only...

Yeah I do :nod: .....2 complete and a couple in bits that would easy make another (maybe 2)....but I need them of course. Its imposible or expensive to get them now so letting them go when you have 7 ...

I've only had the bike 5 mins but I NEED a seat hump...Seen a few on some of the bikes in the Gallery....where do you get them from..? are they a Yamaha thing or aftermarket..?

I've got a few.... Fifteen at the moment, 7 of them are RD500's though.
My all time favouite fun bike is my 1987 Yamaha RD350 YPVS F2..awesome little bike - with bit of fettling, its taking a bit of a back seat at the moment though.

Oh yeah sorry...no it is an original z1100r Lawson rep. Still running after 60,000 miles but I've took it off my insurance at the moment to put the Thunderace on. Erm have been advised to remove the sig but its on my web pages along with the 2-strokes if your interested.

Would love to but I cant make it this time because I'm away doing South Downs 100 mile mountain bike thing this weekend and then next weekend I've got to get my RD500 ready for Classic Bike track day on the 12th. I'll be watching out for the next meet though no worries.

I have to admit...it was the paint that sold it to me....it actually looks better in real life than the pic....the yellow is slightly brighter. I'm an RD freak so thats why the paint impressed.
