Yes first thing is the clutch, the baskets can go boom even under a stock
engine. Falicon Cranks have some billet baskets available at the moment
and if you send your primary gear to them they will build the basket
onto it and send back a complete bolt-in assembly.

That and the laser ones are ok ONLY if you have a straight sprocket and
it is bolted to the wheel.
If you have a cush drive (most road bikes) they are useless.

The easiest method I have found is the same method used by many
WSBK teams, it's a variation of the string method:

Using a little oil is pretty normal. Using a lot would be a problem.

Some people say removing the EXUP dulls the bottom end power

Yeah I've used plastex also, and if you do it right it is good for filling
and making shapes.

I have found that ordinary superglue works surprisingly well on
whatever plastic these are made out of.

That'll clean up nice.
