Yzf fighter build

Post by hellraiser »

Started off with this sometime back, cant remember exactly how long ago.
Probably bout 2 years.
Fzr750 the jap import restricted version. With a yzf swingarm.
The original front end was shite so bought an fzr1000 one.

Image

Then evolved into this about a year later. After buying a yzf engine.
And a few other bits and pieces.
Same frame, yzf engine, problems fitting carbs in frame and headers bit too close to frame rails too.

Then i got offered a yzf frame, made things easier.
Already had front end from first mock up, along with zx636r rear subby and bodywork. And the swinger etc.
So bye bye fzr build.

Quite glad the engine didnt fit the old genesis frame properly now.
Have been shopping since getting the new frame, and had the first
mock up (minus engine) last weekend.

I've found that i am probably not gonna need the subframe for the
ninja bodywork now, be easier to make a subby and have it as a single
seater i reckon.
Grafting the subby on looks too much work, and probably not needed, so may be selling it on.

Just gotta get the stem swapped and commence polishing, think i've decided to stay with this set of forks for now.
Nearly went for some usd's a few times, but ive spent too much on massing parts for what i have/already had for now.
I know yzf's come with usd's, but the ones that came with the frame
are scored to fook, so best option was to use what i had.

Think it looks ok really, what ya reckon? :paranoid:

Might update the front, next winter.
Just cant wait to get it built and ride it. :D

Got a few extra bits that arent pictured too! :unibrow:
:D B*st*rds the name!....................But you can call me, right bleedin! :D

Your making a good job of that. Like the rear sets. Are they still available to buy from somewhere? :D

Cheers :D

The subframe is gonna slow me down a bit though
Having a bash myself, but may end up needing a professional's help though. :retard:
Had some ideas but nothing solid yet.

The rearsets, yeah robby moto engineering is full name.(RME)
I got mine off a bloke in Isle of Man, along with a full Akra system and the fuel tank complete with quick release cap. :unibrow: :D

Found a site selling them rearsets! ExtremeBykeSportz

May be worth a look.

Oh dont know about that one mate, mine works in the way that if you flick ya button left or right you have to press in in to cancel it, but im sure if you bought one tried it on and it didnt work how you want it to just take it back and get ya money back.

The std Yam ones that you say "flick left or right" are usually self cancelling on the FZR  no need to press it. If you forget, the indicators cancel themselves after hundred yards or so.

My LC used to do the same thing
