My bike is just about finished now.
Took it for its MOT today but it failed on the front brakes -
Anyway, got them sorted now so i'll take it back monday then its off to whitby I think on the first available weekend sunny day

Been out on the bike today, did 72 miles just pottering around Halifax, Bradford.
Has anyone rode bikes with flats on? reason I ask is cos did/do you find it really hard work to ride at 30mph the only times it felt easy to ride was on say dual carraigeways at 60-80mph.
I also need to get used to setting off, kept forgetting to gradually feed fuel in and ended up giving it a fistfull, stalled it a couple of times.
I have a slight oil leak coming from the top of the engine somewhere, either from the rocker gasket or from the oil feed pipes that bolt onto the back of the head, this seems wosre you stop and put on side stand, I'll have to take the tank off and have a look before next saturday.
I'll also have to sort out the annoying fault thing on the rev counter, because I have used a non std exhaust system and non std carbs the rev counter keeps flicking to zero then to 3000 rpm then a brief second the actual revs you are doing.
The bike seems to take a bit longer to warm up, what I mean by that is that I seem to have to do say 5 miles before it responds as I would expect (unless it is me that is taking 5 miles to get used to it).
Cos It's been 18 months since being on a bike I am still getting a bit of wrist ache as well, but is easing off the more I go on the bike.
have you kept the exup servo plugged into the loom, or removed it altogether?
if it's removed that may cause the tacho to do it's fault diagnostic dance?
i've got flatties on my 750sp and it picks up suprisingly well- the only time it bogs down is if i don't rev it when letting the clutch out from a standing start, but that's down to the tall first gear.
Maybe your flatties' response could be improved with tweaking- if it runs better when the motor is hot that would suggest to me that it's running a bit lean?
i'm in South Cheshire if you want to test ride my sp and see what the flatslides on that perform like (the fork seals are shot at the moment, but i'm still using it for short trips)

I got 39mm flats running on my thunderace engine in my yzf750r bike.
took a day to set them up. there a night mere to 5k rpm then its take off.
if i gas it to hard and can really bog the engine down. i even stalled the engine on the fcr carbs (putting to much in to quick) but i dont use filter just open trupets.
