Anyone know when Yamaha started having the OBD2 ports in the harness .
i assume its around 1999 so after our models.

I think like the other jap makers they have only put OBD2 in the last 3 years - to meet the latest round of EU emissions compliance [which are adopted pre much worldwide]

My old 2011 FZ1 didnt have it - you could access diagnostic mode by the dash.

My Honda NC [2012] doesnt have one, you can read the fault code by decoding flashes from the immob light.

My 2011 ZX10R doesnt have OBD2 - it has a port, but it is different to OBD2 and only 2 pins.

thanks what made me wonder is i say an alegedly obd port from a 2000 cbr600 harness on ebay.

Perhaps california hondas had it early on, although seems unlikely.
