Rear shock

Street fighter

I have changed my swing arm to a yzf750 and an owo1 rear shock.

I need to raise the seat height, I know I can change the dog bones but

The fzr shock is 340mm (1989exup) and the owo1 shock is 360mm

Question shorter dog bones raise the height what does a longer shock do, raise or lower the seat height or nothing??

Longer shock will raise the ride height. The reason shorter bones do that is to do with the way the shock linkage works.

Looking at the linkage I'd say a longer shock will raise the rear

You can see from Stig's photo that shorter bones will pull the linkage together and push up the shock thus raising ride height.

Also, 20mm on your shock length will raise the tail even more. You will also notice that the bike leans over more on the sidestand as it has further to go before touchdown.

just noticed I've bolted the knuckle into the wrong hole
will move later and see what happens.

Don't worry about that. I did the same once and the embarrassing thing is I took a photo before and still got it wrong.

What's the other hole for?

Moved to correct hole and all is fine now.
Also changed knuckle to FZR one so no spacers needed.

I didn't succeed in fitting it because the holes weren't ligning up properly. Can't think what the other hole is for.

Any ideas where I can get new bearings from for the Knuckle joint.

I do have a spare so could press out and take to a bearing shop but easier to buy kit.
