Problem getting an insurance quote

Post by RobJPS »

Hi Guys trying to get a quote for my bike an FZR1000 RU but its coming up as a Thunderace R 1000cc with insurers ?? Now it was first registered in 1997 so would this be the reason as mine were only made until 95.

I got this bike in November with no history so how would I go about getting this sorted?

The V5 just states Yamaha 1000 with the correct frame and engine numbers

I had same with a car.
Insurance company told me it happens quite often, the data was inputted wrong on the main system they all use.
They manually inputted data to give quote.
I had to supply paper work etc after taking out insurance.
This happened with all insurance companies the first time but was fine for the 5 years I owned the car.
Did give me a fright I thought I had brought a ringer.

Give them a ring again and explain.
Good luck
Only those who have been insane can prove there not insane! Can you ??? :-)

Cheers, I used to work for an insurance firm and your right once one has inputted it wrong they all share the same info. I did panic lol Think its because the bike was not registered until 97 so it falls into the thunderace cat but should be an easy sort hopefully

Try these people. They seem to know the difference between the FZR & a YZF
