Hi

Is it possible to remove the fuel reserve and replace with a light.

I don't want the ignition cut out when low on fuel just a warning light.

Light position and wiring not a problem as building a street fighter

I've found Fang's post but having looked through it, it might not be of any help because he'd fitted a different set up.

Have a look through it to see if it gives you some idea.

I did this mod on one of the 1000Rs.

Observations;

Ensure it is a 5v LED. No other voltage will operate.

LEDs with resistors fitted to the correct voltage are readily available on Ebay.

Ensure the LED is wired correctly...unlike a traditional bulb they require + to + and will not operate with voltage reversed.

Chrome screw on bezels for mounting the LED are also readily available on Ebay.

Both bezels and LEDs come in packs of 5...get it right first time and you can give the spares to others.

I cut an oblong piece of pvc plate to mount the bezel in and just fitted it beside the switch.

When first fitted and the supply is at the reserve level be aware that it takes a while for the sender to heat up and send the voltage to the LED.

Just because the LED does not light instantly does not mean you have a problem....about 4 mins is about average.
