Possible site downtime at month end

Due to circumstances beyond my control the site may be off line until the start of the next calender month.
The outage is due to an increased attack from spammers using up our bandwidth/monthly resources.

For this month I have been able to use a temporary one off extension. The alternative is increasing our hosting package which I am reluctant to do for the benefit of spam attacks (and associated costs)

In the long term I will have to look at finding someone able to alter the PHP coding of the forum to help reduce the scripts being accessed thats sapping our resources

if anyone has any PHP experience, who can and are willing to help out, please give me a shout
