Spent a few tonight and had the motor on the FZR run. After a can of Carb Spray, which I buy by the case now, the carbs actually actually open and close, but main jets not kicking in, hooking up a good battery and plumbing up my remote gas tank. She RUNS!!! The diaphragms are all still good, which is nice. And, I do know about the 93 DR650 trick to replace the diaphrams. And, she runs NICE. You know when you hear a motor run and you know its tight and runs well? Well, that is how she sounds.

Todo List:

New Shoes
Rear brake is stuck, assume its the mast cylinder, but I think I'll just do a full YZR blue dot replacement. Already found one on CL.
Clutch hydraulics not working. What commonly goes wrong here?
Inside of gas tank is a rusty mess. How best to mend?
Replace ALL blinkers
Redo front fork seals and fluid
Full clean of the Carbs

Swappable from good bike:

Carbs

Hrm... time to break out the Excel and do some financial analysis.

common issue with the clutch is the slave cylinder seals leaking and as for the gas tank, an old trick is to fill it with some sharp gravel and a small amount of water....give it a damn good shake and swil, let it dry and then coat it out with a liner

And, Bucket list item, Isle of Mann TT race. Wanna go! My grandfather was born in Ireland and I've got it on my list to make a trip to get my dual citizenship. Austin TX now has a F1 track that hosts MotoGP. So, maybe some opportunities for some couch surfing

afraid not as theres alot of controversy at this side of the pond at present due to the ethenol content in fuel buggering up some brands of liner. I'm not sure what spec fuel you guys are using. Think you'll have to a bit of reading up

Oh yea, all American gas has Ethanol in it. One of my previous life's I was in the biofuels business. What a F'in farce. The lesson where I "got" that the creation of new markets for the expansion of entrenched business can justify ANYTHING and it goes ALL the way up the ladder, CEPA outlawing MTBE... how convenient?!??!? I took a few years off my CS career and fixed boats. Ethanol in fuel, commonly referred to in the mechanics world as, the STIMULUS plan.
