Hi all

Post by Purity Vendetta »

Hi, just taking this opportunity to introduce myself. I have owned my '92, registered in '93, FZR1000 RU since 96... I'm only her second owner. I've taken her as far as Thessaloniki in Greece and I think my arms are only just recovering even though that was in 2002 :) I live in Tamworth Staffs and run a little business restoring British classics.

Thanks to Stig for sorting out my membership, fab forum btw. I'm just in the final throws of getting my FZR back on the road after a bit of a lay off. Life has a habit of getting in the way sometimes as I'm sure you all know and boy do I wish I'd drained the fuel system before I laid her up! Thank god for ultrasonic cleaners I say!

Hello and welcome to the best place on earth.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :)

Hi oldskool, I can't remember the make of the ultrasonic we have but I'm heading out to the workshop now so I'll post it up later. It's about an 8 ltr tank and I can fit two carb bodies and float bowls at a time. I try not to overload it to get the most effective cleaning. Once I figure out how to post pics I'll put up one up. We're really pleased with it though.

You're most welcome mate.
I for one would love to see photos of some of these classics you restore, being a 500 BSA DBD34 Gold Star owner (three times) in a previous life.

As for riding your EXUP all the way to Greece, our good friend on here, nuggitt went all the way to Paxos in Greece and back with his, but did it the easy way, in a container:D

I have just got my exup back on the road after an almost 5 year lay off and I hadn't drained the tank, I must have been lucky as I left the old fuel in and topped up with fresh and it runs sweet as a nut still.

Right I finally figured out how to upload pics of our restorations so here's a few and my apologies to admin for messing up your forum. If it's possible it would be cool if you could delete my previous two unsuccessful attempts to hide my incompetence with computer stuff. You have to admire my tenacity though

We do restore, service and repair any type, age or nationality of bikes though. We draw the line at trikes though but that's another story :paranoid:

Is this your main business or just a past time?. know what you mean when you say life gets in the way. I seem to have a different task for each day of the year and still never catch up :crybaby:

He's started wearing a bib now. What with his dribbling, arthritis in his wallet hand and bad eyesight. The man's a total wreck and he's got the cheek to call purity Mate!!!
