hi all, i have an 89 1000 exup,49k on the clocks.i purchased it last year and have just started to ride and noticed a slight misfire.i have stripped the carbs and cleaned all the dirt out(quite a lot more than i was expecting)i have changed coils 1+4 without any change
when started without airbox on no4 is popping and a puff of smoke sometimes comes out of carb,exhaust also pops.not all the time but this is the misfire i am hearing.would it be the toobs or valve clearances?are shims easy to get?can you visually check toobs?
any other bits i need to look at on the bike for 49k service.its my first road bike and will be a keeper as its great fun to ride!
