Best way to clean engine

The place to come to share your technical expertise, or just find out what the little springy thing is that's just pinged out of sight under the work-bench.

Best way to clean engine

Post by Lukather »

Looking at spring cleaning the old girl. Was thinking of giving the engine a good going over try and bring it back to new. I've always used petrol gunk and a good old tooth brush and plenty of elbow.

Not looking to polish up just get rid of crap and bits of corrosion

Any suggestions ?

I used Gunk on mine last weekend.took a hose to wash it off and took a lot of the paint off too! ( Black engine) made it look worse than when it was dirty.... :(

The best way to clean my engine, I found, was to get my man to do it as it's a nasty horrible job :D
