Yes that's the area I was in.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

Yes Stig. If memory servs, I think they were tested at 172 mph back in '89 with the little restrictor cut out of the inlet rubbers. I reckon that speed would have been done electronically and not by speedo readings. Speedometers usually read 10% fast. The lad I bought mine from in 1990 said he had over 180 mph showing on the clock a couple of times during his year of ownership. I never did though.....

Just been to my reference library.
Performance Bikes timed a derestricted RU at 171mph.
1/4 mile in 10.70 secs with a 139 mph terminal speed.
Still respectable numbers today.

Restricted RU was 163.8mph
1/4 mile in 11.17 secs with a 125mph terminal.
Keep on keepin' on.

Well, whatever the actual speed was I don't know, but it went off the clock, and was bloody quick for an old girl like that! 😳

Took the lad out for a little ride this aft. Bloody freezing, but good to give it a run out since the new clutch and engine rebuild.

Looking good matey. I hope you hosed off any residue road salt from under the bike. I like your mancave by the way. Looks a hell of a lot tidier than stigs.
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

Unfortunately it's my dad's garage and not mine mate. It's ridiculously tidy, and and mine lives there during the winter, as its central heated to keep the bikes warm!! I kid you not
