Like you lads. I thought they were steel too. I didn't know you could polish them up. :retard:
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

They looked bloody awful before so amazed with the transformation.Got some stainless bolts going in to finish it off.

Looking good mate.
Must get mine finished, just rear frame to fab then lots of work getting all together then paint.

Cheers mate its coming on,cant wait to ride her now. Still loads to do like some electrics and carbs cleaned and set up,should be ready early March.

You can polish mild steel up to a mirror finish doesn't mean it will stay like that, put a magnet on it, if it drops off get your polishing mop out

Agreed with the steel thing. I once mirror polished the kick start on my 350LC prior to sending it for chroming. Came out fabulous!

Yes as everyone thought, mild steel on the R and RU model 👍, in the garage now with a magnet.

Got the brakes and clutch done yesterday and also got my rad grill fitted, Stig put me on to Martin @ ccdieffemotorcycleproducts and I would highly recommend!

Getting the electrics done today then carbs cleaned and set up,then finally paint job.

Easter weekend is now the target.

Not been on here for a while but thought I would post some pics.I finally finished the bike with only 3 days to go before I took her to Spain for 10 days.

The bike gave me some serious concerns before I left but I can honestly say the bike was amazing!! The power delivery and handling were a joy and I have well and truly fallen for this old 90's superbike.

There are some tweaks in the coming weeks like changing the headlights but I am glad I took a gamble on this old girl and gave her a new life.
